Can anyone give tips on how to listen to audio CD in Amarok. I ask it because Amarok doesn't open audio CD in a Mageia 1 (Amarok 2.4.1, KDE 4.6.3. or in Mandriva 2010.2 (Amarok 2.3.1, KDE 4.4.3).
If I put an audio CD in the drive, it loads and appears on the warning panel to open. I click on it and it opens automatically in Amarok (there isn't other options, like KsCD) and I play and it plays the song's default Amarok, I try to add the CD to listen and there's no way, not in Amarok.
I then go to the menu and click on another application,KsCD and I can hear the CD perfectly (and also got to hear the songs on audio CD with Clementine, VLC and Kaffeine).
Amarok is working fine, accesses music files on HD. ie, there isn't error in Amarok for music files. The CD also carries ok and I can hear in other applications, such as KsCD, Clementine, VLC and Kaffeine, but I don1t understand why the audio CD in Amarok does not open automatically and opens in KsCD.
The problem with Mageia 1 is that clicking on the panel to open the CD, just have one option: to open by Amarok, which does not open the CD. This is terrible for a beginner.. With Mandriva 2010.2, there are several options, including KsCD and it opens the simplest form the audio CD.
I found on Wiki Amarok a FAQ that says:
- How do I play audio-CDs? When you insert an audio CD, it will be shown as a local collection.
I found a topic in Debian (06/07/2011) claiming the same mistake that Amarok 2.4.1 and Juk 3.6.1 are not able to open audio CD. I tried here with Juk and did not open well, but with KsCD open ok.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers
