[SOLVED] Audio Issue with Youtube

I have Mageia 2 KDE. I have no audio when viewing youtube videos, even though the master volume is turned up. I do have audio with other applications including VLC media player, so I assume this is a flash issue. Do you have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Please forgive my leading with a dumb question; just trying to eliminate the usual suspects first... did you check the volume level in the YouTube window?

think the answers are here , i have same prob on my laptop, hopefully this will fix it

edit

it has for mplayer, just trying to resolve vlc, now

must use the tainted versions, the standard versions wont do it.

but there seems to be some issue also with tainted getting overwritten by standard.

I just restarted, and the problem is now fixed. I should have tried that, I guess that was just as simple as the volume control. Thanks.

ok, this might solve others with genuine prob

if you have vlc-plugins-common from the non tainted repo, you wont see the tainted version,

so you have to remove it then vlc and then re-install both tainted versions.

after doing so you need to go into vlc settings and change the video to X11, otherwise you now have no video.

BUT if you then do an update the tainted versions are overwritten with the non tainted.

because the tainted repo is behind in versions to the Core

so there is a problem
