LXDE volume control panel plugin not showing (mageia 3)

Hi, I haven't been able to get the volume control panel plugin to work in LXDE in Mageia 3. It was hit and miss in Mageia 2 (sometimes would work, sometimes wouldn't). But in the past couple of days of using Mageia 3, I haven't seen it at all. Anyone else having this issue, or have a fix? If not, what's the best way to autostart a different mixer (like qasmixer)? Thanks.
