[SOLVED] No sound Mageia 2

Just installed Mageia 2 and all seems fine except no sound. I have Mandriva 2010.2 on same computer with no sound problem. I have a N10/ICH7 Family High Defination Audio Controller listed which in Mandriva is also identified as a 82801G. The driver is shown as snd_hda_intel. Thanks for help, Colin...

First I would make sure that task-pulse has been installed.
Then from the root CL run

# rpm -qav | grep -i ^alsa-* && rpm -qav | grep -i ^pulse


Then post the output. This will help others to assist you.

Also please give the output of

grep Codec /proc/asound/card*/codec*

and

lspcidrake -v | grep -i audio

Well the sound is now working. The only thing i did was disable pulse audio in the setup dialogue. Then when I realized sound worked i enabled pulse audio again and sound was ok. I logged out and back in each time as prompted. Colin...
