Hi,

Fresh install yesterday of Mageia 1. Skype installed and working but Rhythmbox indicates that MPEG -1 Layer (MP3) decoder is required.

Can anyone point me at the correct sources repository to obtain the above.

Installed Banshee which works fine!

I too do not seem to be able to get Rhythmbox to play any files. Has anyone any idea why that might be? Am I missing some plugin I wonder?

When I installed Banshee it also installed a lot of other dependencies.

Some time later I removed Banshee and Rhythmbox was left in a working condition.

Yes. Indeed it does. And all is well now thanks to Banshee. I haven't removed Banshee. I might come to prefer it in time.
