[Solved] Dell chromebook 3120 no audio.

Postby emel_punk » Mar 17th, '20, 20:59

Greetings

I have converted my recently "new" Chromebook 3120 to Mageia and got no audio at first install. Then I decided to try GalliumOS and no luck either. After reading a lot I found out it has something to do with alsa configuration and after configuring it successfully following this simple manual. https://alexandre.iooss.fr/chromebook-linux/ I tried to get back to Mageia and doing the same, but still no audio.

Something with configuration I might be missing since as far as I know the newer kernel does have driver for chtmax98090 and everything seems to be detected correctly.

Any hint on what else should I try?

Maybe you should check there first for some pointers: https://github.com/plbossart/UCM/issues ... htmax98090

Thank you. I don't know how I forgot to update to the latest kernel (5.5.9) and that solved the problem.
