[SOLVED] clementine muted

Clementine is muted. I've been using pactl and pacmd hoping to learn how to unmute it, but have had no success. When I list sink inputs mute status is "yes" when using Clementine, but "NO" if using Parole or VLC. I've been searching forums for a couple days trying to solve this on my own, but like I've already said have had no success.

Now that I've posted here, I've got it working. But it's in a very odd way.

I changed settings in MCC Sound Config. I disabled PA for one snd device and enabled it for the other. At the time, they both seemed to be selected. (FWIW, I would expect a drop down or some means by which to select individual snd devices to config in here. In my case, after clicking OK to confirm settings for one snd device the window reloads with the next snd device.)

Anyhow, the first time I tried to change the settings, I was prompted to logout. But after I clicked OK to confirm the logout prompt, I was logged out immediately. I mean no logout window. Nothing. Suddenly the display went black and I was back to the login. So I logged back in and attempted to make the same change. This time when I clicked OK to confirm the need to logout, I was able to exit MCC without the logout happening "automagically." I logged out as one normally would; ie, right clicking, selecting "Leave," etc. I logged back in and now Clementine is unmuted.
