HP dc5000, ensonique1371 soundblaster card
I have a Mageia 1 installed on a HDD that works fine, has sound
I removed the HDD, installed a blank one, installed Mageia2 on it, no sound
Here you can select an alternative driver (either OSS or ALSA) for your sound card (Ensoniq|ES1371 [AudioPCI-97]).
Your card currently uses the ALSA "snd_ens1371" driver (the default driver for your card is "snd_ens1371")
That's hardly surprising as the Dual CD doesn't have KDE on it.Garthhh wrote:burned a dual arch cd, but I don't have time to sort out how lxde works, when I choose kde, I could only boot to CLI

It does use the same installer as the DVD which gives you a choice of desktop environments but if you uncheck LXDE you have no Desktop installed even if you choose KDE or any other.
