Lost sound this week

Hi all,
everything was going fine with mageia until the beginning of last week, where I lost sound completely (after a bunch of updates). I am a newbie here, can anyone help? I looked at alsamixer, sounds level are ok. I seem to have a <default> and a HDA Intel PCH, both at maximum. What should I check?

Hi again,
I also tried to add myself to the audio group (in /etc/group) as I saw it was sometimes a solution, but after rebooting it is still soundless.

Check the Pulseaudio volume control.
If you don't find it, open a terminal and type

pavucontrol

Maybe this can give you a hint what's wrong ....

Hi,
thanks Bernd, but it seems that if restarting once was not enough, a complete shutdown and restart, done for other reasons, brought back the sound after adding myself to the audio group. I have sound again!
