[SOLVED] Sound goes to zero after restart

[SOLVED] Sound goes to zero after restart

Postby altairz » Nov 12th, '11, 00:09

Hey!

Every time i start Mageia, I have to go to alsamixer, and adjust up the "master front" when I'm choosing my soundcard. Or else I will have as good as no sound on the computer.
As soon as I restart the computer, the "master front" drops down to zero.

How can I make it stay up on "100" instead of "0" when I start up the computer?

Hello and welcome to the Mageia-forum altairz!!!!

Concerning your sound-issue:
* open alsamixer and set "master" and "PCM΅ to three-quarter, adjust to suit your listening.
* or try disabling "PulseAudio" through Mageia Control Centre>Hardware>Sound Configuration.

Good luck, and feel free to come back!!!!!

Thanks for the reply :)
I had tried to adjust the "master" in alsamixer, but it always went down to zero after reboot. But then i realised what I did wrong. I had to be in root in order for the changes to be saved :P
So now it works great ;)
