I was trying Mageia with the Live USB on my Compaq laptop.

It booted well but and could recognize Broadcom wi-fi modem but could not use it for lack of drivers.

How do I get the wireless modem working with the Like USB?

I am thinking of switching from Ubuntu to Mageia but won't be able to take the plunge unless I can try Mageia from the Live USB.

While running the Live version you can set up online repositories then try to set up your wireless.
It won't survive a reboot but will tell you if Mageia supports your wireless device.

It would at least be helpful if you could post what wifi modem you actually have. Please show the output as normal user of
Code: Select all
lspcidrake -v
