What did you enter there?

Please do the following, as root run
Code: Select all

Please next time use code tags as explained in ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/mandriva/m ... e_tags.ogv

Did you do what was suggested? Did you verify the SIM in your mobile phone to ensure that it works?

Please do the following: unplug the huawei modem, then open a terminal, and as root run:
Code: Select all
journalctl -f

then wait a few seconds, and plugin the device, wait again ten seconds or so, until no new output appears.
Post all the output here.

After you plugin the modem, do you get a notification shortly later on that a CDROM was detected?
Can you try to "eject" or safely remove that drive via file manager or device notifier of your desktop environment?

Please do the following: unplug the huawei modem, then open a terminal, and as root run:
Code: Select all
journalctl -f

then wait a few seconds, and plugin the device, wait again twenty seconds or so, until no new output appears.
Then unmount the CDROM drive and wait again fifteen seconds or so.

Post all the output here.

And please repeat this complete procedure after disabling modemmanager via as root
Code: Select all
systemctl stop ModemManager

Re: Huawei e398 cant configure

Postby aledigit » Nov 20th, '14, 13:09

I have the same problem with an ALCATEK X230 key. Mageia detect it, but if I try to add a new internet connection with MCC, after asking me the SIM PIN I have an error saying that the SIM is not in. After google and Mageia forum search, using the command:

Code: Select all
comgt -d /dev/ttyUSB

with different number, I discovered that the working one is /dev/ttyUSB4. It seems that the detected modem in the internet connections is not linked to the right ttyUSB, in my case ttyUSB4. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Can you please not post your issue across 3 different threads, and everytime with different amounts of information.

Sorry, the second post was a mistake, but when I have realized it, it was too late for delete the post. The third post is because I discovered the thread later!!!
