Network center glitch

Hi,
I have a minor issue with starting a WiFi connection via Network Center.
After I choose my home network from the list and press the "Connect" button, a small window appears (saying "Wait please, etc...") and it stays visible for about 15-20 seconds after the connection is established. I wouldn't consider it as a bug, but it is a kind of irritating thing.
Does anyone know what it is doing all that time? Is it possible to decrease that time somehow?
