Intel WiFi Centrino 2230 is off by default

Postby Willard1975 » May 12th, '14, 20:17

Hello.

I have a small issue with my WiFi adapter. It's listed in draknetcenter and the applet, but the wireless icon is red and the network list is empty. Nothing i can configure or do in the GUIs seem to bring it up, but if i issue the following command as root:

Code: Select all
iwconfig wlp3s0 txpower auto

the interface comes alive and i can see all the nearby networks and connect to my own. Is there a way to fix this?

/Michael.

As a hackish workaround, you could add that to either /etc/rc.d/rc.local or add it to the network interface definition.
Another way would be to add this as an option to the kernel module if it supports this option.
What driver does it use? Please show the output of
Code: Select all
lspcidrake -v | grep -i net
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!
