thank you.
I use Mate desktop, but it doesn't seem that it is possible to open Caja as root or I forgot how to do it:
I log as root in console and then type caja. The result is
Code: Select all
(caja:19216): EggSMClient-WARNING **: Failed to connect to the session manager: None of the authentication protocols specified are supported

(caja:19216): Unique-DBus-WARNING **: Unable to open a connection to the session bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

(caja:19216): Unique-DBus-WARNING **: Unable to connect to the running instance, aborting.

maybe I do something incorrect?

maybe later
I logged into the console as root using su command, navigated to the etc and then to the rc.d folter using cd and ls commands, then used command
Code: Select all
cat > rc.local
,
then simply typed (actually copy pasted) two lines of text:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
rfkill unblock all

then pressed enter at the end of second line and mystic Ctrl + D
restarted and now I am sitting on the sofa connected to wifi :D

Before you repost here under mga7 with the same issue, you may want to take a look why rfkill is soft-blocked, so you can fix the actual cause for that.
See e.g. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Setup_wirele ... ic_drivers if you have any wmi kernel module loaded which could cause this.

Or at the very least provide some actual information what wireless chipset you have, what driver you're using an so on - this is also mentioned further up on the mentioned wiki page.

after
Code: Select all
echo "rfkill unblock all" > /etc/rc.d/rc.local && chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.local
I was able to boot only in recue mode
