[SOLVED] No /proc/net/nf_conntrack created

[SOLVED] No /proc/net/nf_conntrack created

Postby crontab » Jul 22nd, '13, 06:09

Hi,

I used Mandriva before, but I am new to Mageia. After a fresh install of Mageia 3 (32 or 64 bit), I found out that there is no '/proc/net/nf_conntrack' or '/proc/net/ip_conntrack' created when I establish an internet connection. The module 'nf_conntrack' (not 'ip_conntrack') is actually loaded as can be seen by 'lsmod'.

Is '/proc/net/nf_conntrack' no long used in Mageia? Or is there something wrong with my installation? Wish someone may happen to know answer. Thanks a lot.

Yes it is gone. Instead install the conntrack-tools package.

Code: Select all
Description :
The conntrack-tools are a set of tools targeted at system administrators.
They are conntrack, the userspace command line interface, and conntrackd,
the userspace daemon. The tool conntrack provides a full featured interface
that has replaced the old procfs interface. Using conntrack, you can view and
manage the in-kernel connection tracking state table from userspace. On the
other hand, conntrackd covers the specific aspects of stateful firewalls to
enable highly available scenarios, and can be used as statistics collector as
well.
