Mageia 3 x86-64 install to usb hard drive finished but...

Postby Rikikihdd » Jun 12th, '13, 20:37

I have no wifi. The drivers are installed for the usb wifi adapter and it shows a connection available, but I cannot connect to it for some reason when I put the WPA2 key in. Any ideas?

More info:

M3 64 bit is currently installed on my 500gb Lacie external USB 2.0 device (Seagate Sata2 drive inside). I intend to make this a mobile desktop drive and may integrate it into a separate project in the future (touch screen car PC/mobile media server)

Currently running on a Dell XPS 410 with Intel C2D 6600 2.4ghz, 4 gb ram, and a Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1gb card. The usb wifi adapter is an Airlink101 wireless N, shows up as a Realtek 24N (?) in the network properties under M3.

Thanks! I'll look into that and see if its the case. Again, fresh install of M3. It would originally ask me for the root password as well prior to allowing me to put the wifi pass in, however that was a simple account privileges issue.

Basic goal with this is to have a fully mobile native desktop with all my necessary docs, media files, etc on it. Easier to carry around than a laptop, especially for school. Soon as I figure out this wifi issue it should be good :)
