Hi,

I updated my system recently (albeit after a long time), and am now on the latest kernel
Code: Select all
Linux localhost 3.4.24-desktop586-3.mga2 #1 SMP Sat Jan 5 02:32:45 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
I have broadcom wl package installed, i was on broadcom-wl-kernel-3.3.8-desktop586-2.mga2, but now on broadcom-wl-kernel-3.4.24-desktop586-3.mga2

Before yesterday, my wireless was working perfectly. However, it doesn't seem to work any more after the update. Can someone help?

There is a bug against the same wlan adapter in cauldron, but I don't know whether it is related or not.
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7828

Also, Sander mentioned on IRC yesterday that there is a new kernel in 2 core/updates_testing: kernel-3.4.30-1.mga2.
The first item in its changelog is:
- fix conflict on to match dkms-broadcom-wl with fixes blacklisting and aliasing

and further down:
- b43: Fix oops on unload when firmware not found

broadcom-wl-5.100.82.112-7.mga2.nonfree and
kmod-broadcom-wl-5.100.82.112-39.mga2.nonfree are both in 2_updates/testing, too, but neither of them has been rebuilt against 3.4.30, yet.

tmb, the maintainer, isn't on IRC very often, but I'll ask whether someone in QA team knows something.
