Wireless problems

Hi,
I just installed Mageia and my wireless wouldn't work on it. I have a rRealtek rtl8188ce wireless card. Mageia wasn't seeing my wireless card at all, I then found and installed a rtlwifi-firmware package and now Mageia sees my wireless card but when I scan for wireless networks it doesn't detect any. I've tried using ndiswrapper to install the windows driver but haven't been able to get it to work. I am a new linux user and don't know to much. I have the linux driver for it too but I'm not sure how to install it, any help is very much appreciated!

I have the exact same WIFI Card in the laptop I'm using now. Works great. After you install the rtwifi-firmware pkg:

#1 Reboot computer and make sure Wifi card is turned on. The light turns from orange to green on the wifi/f12 key on my hp Pavillion g7.
#2 If there is still trouble remove any existing network connections in MCC, than add the wifi with MCC as well

Let me know if this doesn't work, like I said I have this card and have used it with many a distro etc. So if you have any more questions let me know.

You need to uninstall ndiswrapper and delete the connection, before you can try setting it up (as a new connection) with the linux driver. ndis conflicts with the native driver, and once you've tried ndiswrapper the connection is hooked.

It can be hard to remove ndiswrapper once it has been installed. If you have trouble with this, you could try the procedure I recommended in https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3992#p28888.

I removed ndiswrapper the way you said and reinstalled the rtl-wireless pack and it's working perfectly now! Thank you all for your help!
