Mageia and security

Postby flyingsoccer » Jul 14th, '12, 17:01

Despite of security advice today Mageia have no intrusion detection, disk or home directory encryption not asked while installing, can someone tell how safe Mageia 2 is no intrusion detection concerns me.

The firewall is configured secure, icmp has been disabled but still concerning. :?:

Disk or /home encryption can be done via installer in advanced options, there's a checkbox for it. For intrusion detection, which other distributions come to mind enabling this by default? Also to what are you exactly referring when you're asking for intrusion detection? FWIW, a small part is covered by mandi-ifw, the interactive firewall, which detects port-scans. And AIDE is also available via the repositories ....
