[SOLVED] Network on VMWARE

[SOLVED] Network on VMWARE

Postby pmithrandir » Mar 26th, '12, 10:00

Hello

I need a computer to ask new comers to do some tests.

I'm creating a vmware to be sure they dont have access to my datas directly.
I have a perfectly fonctionnal vmware workstation, with other virtual machines.

Mageia works fine, except the network part.
Mageia can't access the network...

Do you know how to configure mageia network to allow the network connection ?
On others vmware, it was automatic.

I'm using a NAT connection on vmware worksatation, with DHCP enable with a lot of available IP adresses.

Thanks
Pierre

I am using Vmware player for a long time.
I always use only default setting for network in virtual machine.
But I have not had any problems so far including Mageia 1, Mageia 2 Beta 1, Mageia 2 Beta 2.

Hi pmithrandir.

What exactly do you mean with the title topic?

Sorry, I found the solution during the day, but was in a hurry.
I forgot to answer to explicit more.

The post is to be deleted... It happens to works after a reboot in NAT mode.

My suggestion to mark the topic as solved then. ;)

And please revert the title to something more to-the-point.
Thanks in advance!!!!!

In general no post will be deleted (except duplicates or spam). Especially if the issue is solved - another user may be looking for an answer to exactly the same question.

I asked to delete the post before anyone reply to it...

The question was stupid, not related at all to mageia, and I resolved it by basicaly force the DHCP server of vmware to restart...

But now there is some answer, you are right, if it can help someone, it would be more useful to keep it.

Thank you pmithrandir!!!!!

Don't know who you asked for deleting, except for your change of title.
But everything is just fine now. ;)
