[SOLVED] no Intel wifi after latest mga6 update

[SOLVED] no Intel wifi after latest mga6 update

Postby magfan » Jun 11th, '17, 12:20

After updating mga6 this morning wifi does not work any more. Usually I had to rename two files in /usr/lib/firmware because the latest version which is supporting my intel wifi card (Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a)) is "iwlwifi-8000C-21.ucode":
Code: Select all
cd /usr/lib/firmware
mv iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode iwlwifi-8000C-22.bak
mv iwlwifi-8000C-27.ucode iwlwifi-8000C-27.bak

But since the last update this trick does not work any more. Any idea what I could try now? Booting with the previous kernel (4.9.30) does work; it seems to be the new kernel which causes this problem.

No, I did not report it, yet. I discovered this problem when the forum was not reachable and it was impossible to send bug reports. Luckily I found a hint for a solution somewhere else but this one does not work any more.

The problem will be solved with the next kernel update (see: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21081 ). Once this is done I will mark this thread as solved.

Solved with kernel 4.9.32-server-1.mga6.
