[SOLVED] How to switch from net_applet to NetworkManager

The wiki page seems to work fine, use it on every new install, but just wondering why there are two commands with enable for network-manager?

Code: Select all
systemctl enable --now NetworkManager.service; systemctl enable NetworkManager.service

Should not one be enough?

Somebody changed the wiki page without much thinking about….
@Morgan: this is not regarding pipewire but networkmanager…

I corrected the relevant part for the netwokmanager wiki page, so that i now makes sense again.

For completeness, there are slight differences:
enable --now does enable a service for boot AND starts it, --enable alone would only enable a service for boot, and not start it.
The first one does suffice though.

Yeah exactly. IIRC the --now flag was added later to systemctl so it could be that the wiki page was using the two commands needed earlier.
