setting up an alternativa MAC address doesn't work

Postby lele66 » Nov 16th, '19, 13:07

Hi all,

I tried to set MAC ADDRESS other than the hw from the advanced network settings panel but it doesn't work - I can fill the field but ifconfig shows the old MAC. Is it a bug or is it intended? How did you succeed with MAC manipulations? Also macchanger tool (although listed with mageia software) does not work: the output shows something like "too low privileges or device in use"

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I use mageia 7 LIVE xfce and it rocks! :D
