Wireless not working on Mageia 3 Gnome

Wireless not working on Mageia 3 Gnome

Postby bmfantonio » Aug 6th, '13, 04:17

Hey guys! So, I recently got rid of that damned thing called Windows 8 and installed Mageia 3. Everything works fine and I'm still getting used to it, except for the wireless, which doesn't work at all. I looked for topics posted by people with the same problem as me and tried to copy what they did, but so for I had no luck at all. Right now I gotta connect to the internet through the ethernet cable.
PS I guess I need to give you my driver specs or something, but I still don't know how to do it in Mageia 3. I'm a freshcut in terms of linux.
PS 2 The mageia wiki says that the Ndiswrapper is a possibility, but only for windows xp computers. Mine was originally windows 8, however.
Thanks in advance!

Which media did you use to install Mageia, and which desktop environment are you using? Do you use net_applet or NetworkManager?
And please provide the output of the following commands:

Code: Select all
lspcidrake -v | grep NET
ps -ef | grep -ie net

and, as root:
Code: Select all
journalctl -b -u network --no-pager
systemctl status network.service
journalctl -b | grep -i -e wifi -e firmware
