I am having a problem trying to access my NAS (a NetGear ReadyNAS v2- lets say its on 192.168.1.11). I have (as root) gone to MCC>Configure Windows(R) shares> Access Windows (SMB) shared drives and directories. I see my NAS (called "central").
Expanding it shows a number of the 'shares' on the system (there are 3 others which aren't shown - two have been configured by family members running Windows and marked as 'private(?)' I have also done this in a windows environment). Of the three visible 'shares' 1 has a blank password, 1 has a password (lets say its user is 'User' and password is 'Passw0rd') and 1 is set for anonymous/public access (that share is called 'Family'). I don't seem to to be able to mount any of the 'shares' that I should be able to (ie I know the password etc) I also have administrator rights over the NAS and cannot mount it as the administrator.
I have created a directory '/mnt/Family'. All attempts to mount the NAS share - with/without username - with/without password fail and MCC doesn't give any further info except that mounting failed. Similarly attempts with the password protected shares fail.
I have also tried Smb4k which detects and sees the NAS and its 'shares' but won't mount any of the visible shares - even when supplied with the username and password. I get an error message in (approx) "mount.cifs returned a error (95)".
Further suggestions for troubleshooting and or solutions would really be appreciated.
