Hi everybody, this is my first post.
I'm from Italy and I'm very happy to join this community.
I'm a Mageia user since version 2, being a Mandriva 2010.2 user before that.
I searched this forum for answers about my problem, but I found none. Actually
there is a thread concerning the openldap client, but with a different problem.
I googled a lot too and tried some suggestions: none of them worked.
So, here I am asking for help.
I use openldap at home. Till mageia 2 I had no problem whatsoever, but about two
weeks ago, I upgraded to mageia 3 and the openldap client stopped working. I
found out that there was a misconfiguration in /etc/nslcd.conf (actually a non
configuration of the file as pointed out in bug 10005 on bugs.mageia.org) and I
fixed it. It seemed to work, until I tried to login offline.
Ah, there's the rub..
It said: "You've been logged with cached credentials" but no login
happened. So I installed and tried to configure nscd, but until now no success:
when I try a "getent passwd" offline, I get only the local users, but if I try
"cc_dump" I can see the cached credentials. Maybe it's just a misconfiguration
but i don't know where to look.
I tried also a vbox fresh install of mageia 3 with same problems.
The most involved pc is a samsung rc730 (core i5, 8 gb ram, 1tb hd, nvidia
optimus) with mga3 x64.
In the meantime, the only workaround I found was to create a local user with same uid, gid, password and home.
Please, let me know if you need to have a look at some of my configuration files.
Thanks a lot.
