broadcom-wl driver works fine after reboot

Postby ca-on-adam » Jun 16th, '13, 19:06

After automatically installing the broadcom-wl driver, the Network Configuration tool gave me this error message:

Unable to find network interface on selected device (using wl driver)

A google search pointed to possible problems with the broadcom-wl driver, suggesting removal of the package. I almost started searching for the package name so I could remove it. BUT,

It just seemed to need a system reboot! So there you go, try that before messing with the packages!

This was observed on Mageia 2 x86_64 with the "Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.22b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller" on a Dell Inspiron n7010 laptop.
