Has anyone gotten the Canon mg2520 to connect and print. I've read it's been done but can't locate anything that works. dmesg shows the printer but keeps giving a usb disconnect. This is a usb hook-up only all-in-one w/o WIFI.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Yeah I know, should have bought Epson or HP.

Then please do the following: unplug the printer, open a terminal, and as root run:

journalctl -af

then wait a few seconds, and plugin the printer, wait again ten seconds or so, until no new output appears and until you see the disconnect.

Then post the complete output here.

Well, finally got it, be back in a few hours. Thanks for the response. Here it is.

Sorry about that, Been a while since I've been here computer locked up last night and when I got that straightened out I noticed the On light is now flashing when a print command is sent, it's just not printing.
So it is making contact. Driver problem maybe? Or is it dropping the command. The last six or seven lines haven't been showing in dmesg.

Well, after much altering and re-installing and trying what everyone else suggested it came down to this. Dmesg was finally showing the printer but with a driver problem. The overseas drivers for linux use different file names on at least two of the driver files so they don't function right. I started playing around with other canon drivers listed in MCC of which there are many and finally came across the Pixus ip 2700 driver which is working for both printing and with scanning.All is well again in linux land.

Just for clarity, are you saying you have the same problem with the USB disconnect as OP mentioned?
