Canon PIXMA MP140 freezes

Canon PIXMA MP140 freezes

Postby turboscrew » Oct 10th, '14, 13:19

I managed to set up the printer and Samba, and when I tried to print a 6-page pdf locally, it printed out fine.
It took a short (1 - 2 seconds) pause on the last page.

Then I tried printing a 6-page text file from a Windows machine to that printer via Samba, and
the printing froze at the end of page 5. Nothing has happened for the last couple of minutes.
Looks like the classical - only "power chord reset" works.

Any idea what's wrong, or how to get around?
Any idea how to start troubleshooting?

Still nothing happens.

Hmm, with simple driver printing the same text file locally worked fine.
(The file is on a Samba share, so it's not similar, but the same file).

[edit}

Aha, printing the file from Windows via Samba share made the printer freeze
even with the simple diver.
