Trying to print a local html file via Firefox. Printer is a Brother USB mono laser printer.

I'm getting a "printer unplugged or turned off" message.
Added more paper to printer and made sure it was turned on.

Went to about:config and reset print_printer
restarted firefox.

[root@localhost ****]# lpstat -p
printer HL2270DW-2 disabled since Tue 09 Sep 2014 09:00:33 PM EDT -
Unplugged or turned off
[root@localhost ****]# cups enableprinter HL2270DW-2
bash: cups: command not found

I'm not sure what to try next. Help requested.

Thanks kindly in advance.

I had a similar experience last week. What fixed it for me was to start the Mageia Control Centre, go to System->Set up the printer(s)..., highlight my printer, then in the Printer drop-down menu, click on Enabled (a tick appears next to Enabled when the printer is enabled).

What you want is probably
Code: Select all
cupsenable
