I just got one of these, cheap and cheerful printer, it installed perfectly with HPLIP, autodetected spot on.

Very nice, except the colour balance is wrong, the colours are too bright, orange comes out closer to yellow for example.

There are settings in HPLIP for:-
Brightness
Gamma
Saturation
Hue

But I have done repeated print tests changing these quite drastically, and to be blunt, they just don't do anything.

I installed this package

http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/

And that gives me perfect colour balance, but sacrificing significant quality, there are banding issues and obvious graininess that doesn't show up with the HPLIP drivers.

Quite happy to try any suggestions, alternative drivers etc.

Oh I forgot to mention, I have posted this question in the HPLIP support section here

But no-one has answered yet.

There seem to be no alternatives, from a quick glance at http://www.openprinting.org/printer/HP/ ... Pro_CP1025

EDIT: Ahh, you forgot to mention which Mageia version you're using.

Ahh sorry, Mageia 4.1 on the Laptop and Mageia 4 on the desktop PC, I get the same problem on both machines. Both are fully up to date with updates.
