On 21 September, in this forum, I posted a request for help to get my printer going. Thanks to your help, it was going within a couple of days.
Now it has stopped printing. The print dialogue for any program - Firefox, LibreOffice, etc - did not show an installed printer.
I went to the Control centre to install it again and the Control Centre led me to download and install all the print software again. Then I went to Configure printing and scanning/Set up printer(s)... and it responded, "There are no printers configured yet." I clicked the ADD button and the circle thing down the bottom left showed that it was searching for a printer. After about 15 seconds it stopped, and did not detect my printer, which is a HP LaserJet 5L, connected via USB.
I checked all the connections, and that the printer was on, but still no success.
I have tried several times, with the same result.
Please remember, when replying, that I am not familiar with the command line. I've survived 15 years of Linux without it.
Thank you.
