[SOLVED] Kyocera FS-C5100DN color laser printer

Hello all-- I have a Kyocera FS-C5100DN color laser printer. It prints in Postscript without the need for a driver for a proprietary protocol. However, I don't know how to install it. I'm a long-time Ubuntu user (Ubuntu's printing manager discovers and automatically configures the printer with a ppd file (postscript printer definition file), but Mageia doesn't discover or see the printer when it's turned on and connected to the computer.

Anyone else have this or any model Kyocera printer, and can give advice on how to configure it in Mageia?

Thank you.

I thought I would answer my own question, for others in the future who might experience the same problem.

After using the Mageia control panel --> Install and Remove Software, and installing task-printing-server (which installs the CUPS printing system) and task-printing-misc (which includes drivers for less well known printers, including Kyocera printers such as my own), the problem mentioned in my post above persisted. But after turning the computer off, turning the printer on, turning the computer back on and booting into Mageia, upon opening the Mageia control panel --> Hardware --> Configure Printing and Scanning, then clicking the "Add" button to add a printer and waiting for a few seconds, the system did discover (recognize) my printer and gave me a choice for it in the list to the left of the configure-new-printer dialog window.

SO, problem apparently solved! :D
