HPLIP with laserjet 1020

Hi,

I rtied to install my HP 1020 printer on linux.
HPLIP detect it on my USB, but I have some issues.

For exemple, I get some "connection error" to the printer.
When I try to print I get a "print completed", but nothing come out from my printer.

Do you have an idea on what to do ?

This printer worked fine 3 years ago on mandriva 9 without HPLIP. It doesn't work on mandriva 2010.2(wrong HPLIP version).

Thanks

A shot in the dark, did you try turning the printer off then on while it's connected to the system and the system is already up and running?

I had the same problem, solved it by installing the printer manually

skip the easyURPMI step

don't know if this will help you

i have a belkin USB to 25 pin conversion cable to my printer a HP LJ1200 which worked under mandy/windows
did a little research online and found that if i blacklisted the uss720 driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-compat
the printer configured without a problem and printed first shot

i was getting errors like-> uss720: async_complete: urb error -32 in dmesg when booting up
but blacklisting that driver solved my problem

hope this helps you or someone else
