Just installed Mageia 2 KDE version.
All is working well except when I went to the control centre to configure my Epson Stylus DX7450 printer, it wanted to install the best part of 500mb :o , including what seemed to be most of the Gnome Desktop.
Can this be correct??

The 500MB means when it's installed, the packages it will fetch are quite a bit smaller. And depending from which medium you installed, and which driver you need or what the driver needs to work there are quite a lot of packages which need to be installed. But that doesn't have much to do with GNOME desktop.
Could you post the list of those to-be-installed packages here so i could take a look?

doktor5000...
Your post makes sense. When I ran printer configuration from the control centre it said 90 packages/455mb, which I thought was the download size.
When i ran it from konsole it only needed to download 74mb, which made more sense.
Consider my query solved, and thanks for your reply.
