hello

when installing above on M2-b3 following warning:

While some packages may have been installed, there were failures.
Some requested packages cannot be installed:
cnijfilter-mp280series-3.40-1.i386 (due to unsatisfied libtiff.so.3)

is this lib. avaliable from any repo?

cheers

thanks for the link.

printer now "goes thru the motions" but does not print.

printer part of unit operates in M1 so is something else missing?

regards

Can you please rephrase that? So does the printer work properly and produces proper printout under mga1, but it doesn't do proper printout in cauldron?
Please provide the contents of /var/log/cups/error_log

sorry for the delay in getting back to you

under Mageia1 printer correctly prints but not so under Mageia 2.

I had hoped that replacing the live-cd install with the M2rc dvd install that there may have been a difference in the operation of the printer but it does not appear so.

printer does not load a sheet of paper but the printer sounds as though it is printing.

printer log attached

regards

Then you probably can't just installed the prebuilt printer driver, but you have to recompile it on the Mageia 2 machine (once Mageia 2 is released).
The tarball for the driver can be found at http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/ij-mfp/bjl ... g5130.html

The driver is officially released by canon.

Printer driver : http://www.all-driver.com/printer-drive ... river.html
extract the archive and find the dep packages in the extracted folder... install the deb file that has "common" word in the name first, then the mp280 deb file

the same concept

Download the scanner instructions from here: http://support-in.canon-asia.com/conten ... 10501.html
