printer/scanner problems

printer/scanner problems

Postby llars » Feb 17th, '22, 00:35

I am new here, so have not had opportunity or time yet to go through the various posts, so if this has already been presented, forgive me.
I installed Mageia 8. I have two printers. A Canon MG2522 and Epson Workforce 2750.
Was able to get the canon printer to work, but not the scanner part of it.
Now for the epson. It is not recognized, nor can I find anything that would help me install it and use it. It is a combo printer, scanner and fax, with wireless and wired capabilities.
I would highly welcome any help on how to get the scanning portion of the canon printer to work and how to install the epson workfoce wf 2750.
In windows, both of course came with software that enabled every feature. And I will not go back to windows.
Would installing wine help?

Hi there, nope - installing wine would not help with that.

How are both of those connected currently, via USB? And for the Canon, please as root post the output of
Code: Select all
sane-fine-scanner
scanimage -L

For the Epson one, I can't see that on openprinting.org. Although Epson does seem to offer a drivers, check https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/sear ... ch/?OSC=LX and search for WF-2750.
Then grab the .rpm package for the generic printer driver and install that.

Both ate connected via usb cable. Will check out the links. Rather frustrating, but I know a solution is out there.
