epson v19 scanner install

I need to install my epson v19 scanner and it doesn't seem to work. I installed epsonscan2-bundle-6.6.2.4.i686.rpm which works in fedora and opensuse. The rpm installed fine. I re plugged my scanner which always work doing this. I opened simple scan. It sees my brother scanner but not the epson. Is this the wrong approach in mageia?

I'm running the latest gnome version with all updates done.

Thanks so much!!!!!

Did you follow the instructions from Epson? The two packages have to be installed in a defined order or it wont work.

Did you follow the rest of the instructions?

Thanks.

I used 5.1.1. Auto Installation in script method. It worked fine but when I launch simple scan it did not detect my scanner. I unplugged and replugged my Epson v19 scanner. This usually works all the time with other distros. All also see what the xsane scanner software shows.

I'll try 5.1.2. Installation in command but I'm sure I will get an already installed notice.

I'll post back with the results but basically this is what I did initially.
