Samsung SCX 4200 error: not printing properly

Postby Tautve » Sep 7th, '19, 22:30

Hello people,

recently I have purchased a second-hand Samsung SCX 4200 printer but it has an issue. While I give a command "print" on my laptop (win 10), it warms up, and starts printing. However, in the middle of the printing process, the printer stops and shows an error "paper jam". I open and close the door of the printer and then the printing process continues. After a few seconds it stops again (the page is still not fully printed yet) and the printer shows again the same error. Again, I open and close the door and then I get a fully printed page. I tried to google, but I couldn't find any information related to this particular problem.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Thank you for your answers! :)

printer is circa 2010.

most likely that paper drive rollers are tired, same as my Kyocera FS-820, which exhibits very similar behaviour.
I need to buff the rollers from time to time with coarse sandpaper.

some mechanical skills are likely required to get to the rollers.

good luck!
