[Solved] Cups update problem with Brother printer

[Solved] Cups update problem with Brother printer

Postby tonyhb » Aug 6th, '17, 23:59

I have several computers running Mageia 6 Plasma. They are running very smoothly and the general experience has been fantastic.
I have just run into an issue where my Brother printer (MFC-L2740DW) will no longer print with a filter error - after the recent (August 4th or 5th) Cups update. This has occurred with 2 laptops with 64 bit installs. I also have another older one (32 bit) which I haven't accepted the update and it is still printing ok.

Can anyone suggest what I might do? Is it possible to roll back the update?
Is it possible that permissions have been changed into folders?

PS I used the Brother rpms to do the install initially and all went through ok.

See the global announcement regarding the last cups update: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=11904
Does the workaround help ?

Thanks, yes that fixed it.
The (rogue) file keeps on sitting in updates, guess I just continue to untick that with further updates.
