trying to install my epson xp-400 in mageia 6 after having no probs in mageia 5...
when i go to mcc>hardware>browse and configure hardware i get a notice that
Code: Select all
"the following packages need to be installed:lsb-core-lib64 and lsb-lib64"

go to >install and remove software and choose both of these files i get the notice
Code: Select all
"Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:
- lsb-lib64-4.1-20.mga6.x86_64" and "Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:
- lsb-core-lib64-4.1-20.mga6.x86_64"

if i try to install from a command line i get the following:
Code: Select all
"root@localhost reg]# urpmi lsb-lib64
The following packages can't be installed because they depend on packages
that are older than the installed ones:
lib64ncurses5-6.0-7.mga6
lsb-core-lib64-4.1-20.mga6
lsb-lib64-4.1-20.mga6
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) "

if anyone can point me in a direction it would be appreciated
thank you

check the epson website and see if they have updated the drivers for newer lsb releases.

I had this issue with an XP-442 but the other way around, that under mga 5 the libs needed were to new, and had to install a lib on mga5 sourced from suse, and recompiled on mga5, (as the fedora ones just would not compile).
