Postby davide » May 23rd, '16, 18:30

Hi all,
i installed Mageia 5,but when start,a window says"hplip status service - no system tray detected on this system - unable to start".
My printer is epson stylus s20,and i don't have problem with that printer.
Please help me to delete this message.
Thank you very much.

Hi,

did you install updates yet, as this problem has been fixed already, see https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16946

EDIT: If you don't use HP printer you could also disable the autostart for the hplip applet, just tell us what you prefer.

Depending what desktop environment you use (KDE ? GNOME? something else?) startup programs can usually be configured easily,
you can also remove /etc/xdg/autostart/hp-systray.desktop directly or change it to include e.g.
Code: Select all
NotShowIn=KDE;
if you run KDE for example.

Hi, no need to start a new thread for that, I've merged this into your existing thread.
