[Solved]Brother MFC-L2700DN no scanner or network

Postby rooman » Mar 6th, '16, 18:21

Brother MFC-L2700DN connected by USB & LAN through Netgear router

Win7 via USB & network (installed as local and as network) print & scan ok
Android tablet via wifi & network, printing ok
Mag5 it prints ok via USB, that's all.

I've installed it several times via MCC and via CUPS. As network printer it is detected during printer setup. No app can print or scan.
I've opened 54925/upd and added user to lp and scanner groups.

I can leave the USB cable if obliged but would certainly like to use scanner in Mag5.

What can I check?
What other info can I provide?

Did you install the brother drivers, or do you use the ones from the Mageia repos?

In the cups web interface http://127.0.0.1:631 if you click on printers > manage printer, and if you change the connection, what URI's are offered for that printer?
Something like lpd:// or ipp:// or socket:// ? Or better post the content of /etc/cups/printers.conf

It was added as a zeroconf-detected device. Can you try changing the connection to ipp:// or the one that says "Brother MFC-L2700DN series (Brother MFC-L2700DN series)"
