Incorrect video driver while installing and after

Postby aspid » Nov 10th, '14, 08:22

Hi. Mageia is my first Linux so obvious things may be not obvious for me. I trying to install mageia but on the step where configuring video settings if I click on test all that happens after is black screen. If finish the installation no matter how that black screen problem happens while starting system. If change driver while installing to ati 5000 without free driver - while clicking test I see something weird but similar for what it expected to be (smth like installing screen but warped). What can be done? What info can help find solution? May this problem be notebook specific?

The test function usually doesn't work reliable, as most video drivers block loading of a different driver.
Best select the driver for your card, and finish the installation. If that doesn't work on first boot, please have a look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_4_Err ... e_CD.2FDVD
