Graphic issue after hibernating

Hi folks,

i have an issue with hibernation since some days ago,
whenever i wake my system up from the hibernation, i face a vague and hazy display such the pictures i've attached.
i can move mouse pointer and i go to the text console by pressing ctrl+alt+F2, F3 etc..., but the display doesn't work properly.

PS1: One time (when i faced this issue) i could blindly change 'advanced setting of desktop effect' (changing openGL version) and when it prompted to save or discard setting, the process made xwindow working just fine.

PS2: Having an nVidia GTS 450 (driver version: 325.15), Core2Quad 6600, 4GB Ram / using Mageia 4

PS3: I just simply put the 'Hibernate' button for hibernation, :)

Any help will be appreciated
Regards

Hi BenMC
Thanks a million.
That was exactly because of KWin, i had downloaded Kwin cool effects and activated that.
As soon as i disabled the effect, the issue vanished.
I really appreciated your help mate.

Best Regards

Unfortunately the problem is back :(
i've not change anything, however, it seems that i don't have any problem with hibernating if i only hibernate my system up to one minute after booting up.
maybe some command or effect runs and it's source of the issue :(
is there anyway to restart xwindow by command?

Yep either
Code: Select all
service prefdm restart
or
Code: Select all
systemctl restart prefdm.service
as root. If X still responds Ctrl+Alt+Backspace twice should even be enough to restart it.

Thanks for all of the replies

However, i have a question:
DOES HIBERNATION REALLY WORK FOR YOU?!
i really like to know.
i searched almost all of the topics available here, but couldn't able to make it work correctly and smoothly(for me, some time it works, most of the time doesn't)

what should i do?
do i need to provide more info to get more help?

thanks amigos
