[SOLVED] Wrong video resolution aftre upgrade to M4

I just upgraded M3 to M4 using console urpmi procedure as described in WIKI. I use NVIDIA propriety driver for my video card, Login screen seems to work with proper resolution (1280x720) but after log-in to KDE session, resolution change to maximum avaliable by my monitor. I can not change resolution from systemsettings because resolution option is not available (look at attachment).
What can I do to work with resolution I want to use (1280x720)? If any additional info is necessary, I will add it in next posts.

The small button with the display and the four diagonal arrows on the screen VGA-0 on the right side does allow you to select resolutions,
but only those that are offered via RANDR. So if your favorite resolution doesn't appear, what does

say?
You may also want to look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see which modelines/resolutions are being dropped by Nvidia driver, as it's pretty picky about most combinations.

In most cases you either need to supply a correct modeline in xorg.conf or disable the use of EDID data, see http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L ... tions.html for options available to change that behaviour.

At this moment I use workaround, by including in KDE startup such command:

xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1280x720

But in M3, it was possible from systemsettings -> Monitor and ... (i dont remember English version of such option).

That also only offered randr settings, which you can still choose in the new applet (kscreen) as described previously.

So please read again, also what I wrote about the modelines and stuff.

You can either add a new randr mode permanently, check e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xr ... esolutions or fix your X/nvidia configuration as mentioned above.

OK. Solved. I was not so clever to use new applet. Shame....
