Hello,

I just installed Mageia in virtualbox.
When I am trying to play .mkv file default video player is asking to install following codecs = 1) AC-3 (ATSC A/52) 2) H.264 decoder.

How can I install these plugins? Those plugins are availabe in installer dvd?
My internet is very slow & unable to remain connected to download these plugins.

Regards,
Amey.

Depends which DVD you have, but in general no. Most codecs are nonfree, and are not on the DVD, so you need to enable/add at least nonfree repos.
For software management please have a look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_management or maybe https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Install_and_ ... r_beginner

Apart from that, which desktop environment do you use and which video player?
I'd recommend vlc player, as it doesn't need any further codecs and plays nearly everything.

Hello,

I am using "KDE 4.10" in Mageia & using "videos 3.6.3" player.
Also tried in "Dragon player" but didn't help.

Can you pls send command line to install vlc player?

Thanks & regards,
Amey.

Why command line? Did you read up the documentation on software management, and have you added the relevant repos?
