Only work in tty

My display card is nv riva TNT. The monitor is black after restart the mg3, then I upgrade the sys and at configure step, not select "work in graphical mode" it can works ! But only can work in tty mode, when I type startx and return, the monitor black again! At this time press Ctrl+Alt+Fn can open another tty and works correctly . Only the white cursor flash at the left up corner when press Ctrl+Alt+F7 . No respond when type key and no mouse action by move mouse (USB mouse).
And I have vi the xorg.conf change the monitor Parameters , not works.
And I have change a CRT monitor , get the same result.
While anybody can tell me what can I do ?
I have find the solution at Internet but no result. Their Discusses with other Linux and just only about init 3/5 or startx or press Ctrl+Alt+Fn but not involved driver for display card. This card can work correctly on windows.
How can I get driver from Internet and install it in tty mode.

Just minutes before, I startx again, and monitor display something not exist, but not till with me to have a look it's gone !
Tell me a way can see the information between press startx and monitor turn into graphical mode.
Have anyway can comeback to text mode from graphical mode when the tty is graphical mode , you can't see anything on the monitor.

i have do another try. In text mode type XFdrake get into graphic card configuration, when i do
the test the monitor goto black but before that something display on the left up corner. How can I see the information ?

please change the subject of the first message to something meaningful, like "X11 gives black screen with nv riva TNT"

you can see the log of last X11 run at /var/log/X.0.log, errors are taggerd with '(EE)'

interesting info to provide also is the output of:
uname -a ; lspcidrake -v | grep DISPLAY

you can try also choosing "vesa" or "framebuffer" as the video driver; you won't have all features of the card, but it may work.

My Graphic card is Nvidia riva TNT.

And in syslog have some warning and error flags

fb: conflicting to fb how usage nouveau fb vs VESA VGA - removing generic driver. This Line is normal display
nouveau W[ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] DCB table not found This same 3 lines that highlight .
nouveau E[ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] 0x012e[ ]: unknown opcode 0x00 This a error
nouveau W[ PTIMER][0000:01:00.0] unknown input clock freq This is a highlight .
