Mageia2: nVidia Driver + Control Panel Has Gone Missing

Mageia2: nVidia Driver + Control Panel Has Gone Missing

Postby epretorious » Sep 16th, '12, 05:01

When I installed Mageia 2 from the Gnome LiveCD this morning, there was a nice little nVidia applet in the Activities Bar.

After upgrading the packages, however, Gnome complained about the nVidia driver missing and informed me that X would be using the nouveau driver instead.

What happened? How can I restore the nVidia applet?

Looks like you had conflicts with Nvidia drivers and now they are deleted/disabled
Try to enable them again: Go to Mageia Control Centre > Hardware > Set up graphical server
Click on graphics card (now it should be selected nouveau) and look in vendor tab for your card and choose it. This will enable Nvidia drivers again.
